What will you learn
You will use hand-making techniques to achieve dimensions & marking out, forming, filing, soldering, making settings, cutting stone holes and back holes, and polishing.
This skill-sets focus on establishing design concepts to a brief, finding solutions through own research of elements and principles relevant to creating jewellery to the required standard.
Projects will be made entirely by hand or blended with other manufacturing techniques to produce viable jewellery designs.
This program is closely linked to employment-focused activities and will suit anyone who is considering further study to make goldsmithing and jewellery a career.
Minimum Requirements - You must be 18 years of age or older, and have English at NCEA Level 1, as all tuition is conducted in English, completed NZ Certificate in Jewellery or demonstrated equivalent knowledge or skills.
Detailed Requirements - An audition is required and is free of charge. Prior experiences or achievements are not assessed unless requested.

This course is Level 4 and consists of 60 Credits.
Programme Duration - 16 weeks
Fees - $6,033.30 (Domestic), $12,000 (International)
(Fees-free, student loan and allowances are available for eligible applicants)
The school provides basic materials and common use tools required to complete the qualifications.
Students should also budget for additional materials up to $400.00 This can include, CAD, metals and stones.
Where students wish to manufacture jewellery that exceeds project specifications; those materials are not included.
Full tuition is given in material conservation and best practice management.
Learners may enrol for NZSAF Diploma in Jewellery Level 5
